Picking Tomatoes in the Rain

Our neglected Mother's Day herb and vegetable garden has not fared so well this summer from lack of attention but it still has surprised us at times.  Today, as it rained, Taylor and I picked tomatoes and a large but strangely shaped squash.  Dinner should be interesting tonight.

God Made Momma Special

Taylor loves being fed by me even though she is more than capable of feeding herself.  I think she just likes being the baby and having momma's full attention.  Well, tonight during dinner, I decided to help her along by feeding her the last third of her dinner.  She was thrilled!!!  She said "Momma, you're the best momma ever because God made you!"  She continued, "You're the best momma because God made your eyes.  God made your hair." as Taylor touches my hair.  "God made your cheeks."  "God made your nub, nubs." Ooops!  That's my chest.  Gotta love it.

Past Tense

Although Taylor is not quite as articulate as Sydney was at this age, she can communicate fairly well in her own right.  However, one of the most difficult things for Taylor to master is the past tense.  So, for instance, this morning, she is jumping on the couch and as she comes up she said "Look, daddy, I just fly-ded."  Sweet girl, she meant, "flew".

Two Pieces are Missing

As we pull into the garage today after dropping Sydney off at school, Taylor says "I miss Sydney."  She follows it up with "Two pieces are missing.  Daddy and Sydney."
