It's Important To Have Goals

I have been working on a paint technique in our powder room, off and on, for the last four months now.  A few days ago, I was on the verge of finishing but Taylor wanted me to play with her.  I told her that my goal was to finish up the room so that we can play the following day and go to the library for story time.  So, at lunch, Tay said to me "Momma, I have a goal." to which I responded "What is your goal baby?".  Taylor responded "My goal is to finish lunch!".

Three In A Row, Tic Tac Toe

Taylor is practicing writing her name today.  She wrote it 3 times and yelled out "Yay, my name, three in a row, like tic tac toe!"

So proud of her...

Corrected By Taylor

Taylor found a business card for a paragliding company in her robe pocket.  How it go there, I don't know.  She pulled it out and I opened my mouth and said "Oh, a business card for hang gliding near Pu Pu Point."  She then surprised me with her elephant memory and said "No, momma, not hang gliding.  It's paragliding."  I expect things like this to come out of Sydney, but am always surprised when Taylor takes after her sister.

Ghosts & Fairies Are Not Real But What About Tooth Fairies

Sydney and Taylor are huddled together having a philosophical discussion about the "a"-xistence of ghosts and fairies.  Sydney, being the older one took the lead in the conversation.

Taylor "Do ghosts a-xist?"
Sydney "No, ghosts don't exist.  They aren't real."
Taylor "Mom do ghosts a-xist?"
Me "No Taylor, ghosts don't a-xist."
Sydney "Fairies aren't real either."
Taylor "Fairies don't a-xist???"
Me "What about tooth fairies, Sydney?"
Sydney "Except for tooth fairies.  Tooth fairies definitely exists."

Ear Anatomy vs. Taylor's Stomach

Sydney just finished up a project at school on the anatomy of the ear.  She brought home a model she made and was showing Kevin her work and her, now, extensive knowledge of the different parts and workings of the ear.  After she was done, Taylor, of course, had to chime in and said, as she pointed to her stomach "This is my stomach, not my ear canal."

Prayers In The Ear

Ok, one last post for tonight so I don't ever forget this.  We said our nightly prayers with the girls, starting with the Our Father and Hail Mary.  After we are done, normally, the girls have their own little special prayer to God.  Tonight, Taylor is extremely tired from not napping, so when it was her turn she insisted she said her special prayer already.  I asked her what she said and since she couldn't answer, she looked at me and said "I already said my prayer in my ear!".  I think she meant in her "head".
